Poppy appeal raises over £20,000

The Crowborough Branch of The Royal British Legion would like to thank the people of Crowborough for their support during this year’s Poppy Appeal.  So far £20,404 has been raised and this amount will increase over the next few weeks.

The Crowborough Branch would also like to thank volunteers for donating their time as without them, there would not be an appeal.   This year they had over 30 individual helpers who spent over 230 hours in total collecting between them.  They also had the pleasure of receiving help from many cadets representing both the Crowborough Army Cadet Force and the 1414 (Crowborough) Squadron Air Training Corps.

The youngest volunteer was just eight years old and the eldest 91, so it was lovely to see such a variety of people willing to support this very special cause.

The Branch particularly want to reach out to those who have served in the Armed Forces that may need support, so if you know of anyone then please get in touch.

If you are interested in following their activities, then please see their Facebook page and you can find their contact details on The Royal British Legion’s website.
