Head of Academy, Anna Robinson, who is taking over as Headteacher, is delighted with both the overall outcomes and the exceptional individual achievements.  Praising the diligence of the students, the support from their parents and the dedication of the teaching staff, she said:

It is another proud day for Beacon Academy, following on from our best ever A Level results last week.  The students fully deserve their successes.

Our students once again have worked extremely hard for these exams. They have been meticulously supported by their teachers and, of course, their parents.  This year’s results are a reflection of their collective efforts and diligence.

There has bee some exceptional performances from individual students and specific subjects.  Mathematics and English are particularly noteworthy.  Maths attained 74% A*-C, the best results ever for the Academy.  Nationally, A*-C grades in Mathematics have improved by 1% from 2014; at Beacon they have improved by 17%.

English attained 78% A*-C, showing a 7% improvement at Beacon as opposed to 4% nationally.  Mathematics achieved 48% A*-B; English achieved 41% A*-B. Our levels of progress in these two subjects have once again been exceptional, remaining well above the national averages at 80% for English and 82% for Maths.
